Spawned by the east coast rockabilly and punk scene, BLUE PONTIAC now makes their home in Michigan. They take their anarchist punk roots and rockabilly rhythms and mix it all together with old time blues and hillbilly music. The result is an unclassifiable brand of neo-hillbilly minimalism, as much Townes Van Zandt as Joe Strummer, with a taste of Loretta Lynn thrown in for good measure. They’ll be playing tunes from their latest CD Rust Belt Ballads and Trail Songs, full of drinking anthems, outlaw ballads, prison lullabies, and songs of unbearable heartbreak, regret, and suicidal rage.
