From TINY MIX TAPES: ZOOS OF BERLIN love galvanizing cinematic wonder, a bit of melodrama and theatrics, Cuban and Afrobeat, jazz — they even love punk. There’s no delineation; it all comes together, and it all comes through. It’s a weird whimsicality that may prove overwhelming. Not completely pop, not completely noise experimentation, it is, at its heart, a swath of indie-punk shred, gossamer baroque pop stateliness, expressive jazz penchants, and goosebump-inducing production.

ADAM'S CASTLE: It’s August of 2010 and the second coming of the Castle is just around the bend. Our new album, VICES, will be released this fall and we absolutely cannot wait for you to hear it. First, however, let’s get you caught up to speed… Ok, ok so you may know we had a 5 year hiatus due to various factors, but since fall 2008 the three of us have been working on new material, inspired by the fact that we’re playing together again and now equipped with an arsenal of new instruments and sounds to play with. At the core we are still a piano, bass and drums trio. But these days our gear-to-dude ratio is a little lopsided; electrical outlets being a hot commodity at the space and load-ins a much bigger pain in the ass. Sami has added a heavily affected Rhodes that may have many of you thinking that you are hearing a guitar on the new album. But don’t let it, and the assortment of new pedals, fool you into thinking we’ve added a guitarist. It’s still the good ol’ three piece you’ve grown to know… and love.

And I LOVE LIGHTNING BUGS:Angie and Rob of Stills of Japan, and Reid Adon, who was #1 artist on Mp3.com in the electronica genre, formed the space rock band I Love Lightning Bugs in mid 2009. They are currently putting the finishing touches on their debut album.
