Despite lyrics of lament, BLUE PONTIAC brings an up-beat nouveau country/bluegrass sound that emanates through tracks such as 'Black Friday' and 'In the Land of the Lost' on their new EP. Their connection with the city and its ravaged motor industry comes through when listening to 'Second Shift'. Though the subject matter of most of the songs is dour the nature of the arrangement is not. As with folk music throughout history it stems from communities on their knees producing a sound intending to get people on their feet. It would seem Blue Pontiac fully intend to keep this tradition alive in the 21st century.

With Brooklyn’s sly honky-tonkers THE DEFIBULATORS
