Ocean Grove was formed during a late night escapade while it's members traveled as sidemen on a european tour in 2009. The four piece band from all over the United States had gotten to know each other through years of playing together backing up stars, and had decided the time had come to try their hand at giving the world what they thought to be some quality music. Through late night bus riding musical exploration the band came up with a sound they could all agree on and began writing tunes for their first EP "Little Record" in early 2010. The band then relocated to the central Jersey coast to record 14 songs with Jon Leidersdorf at Lake House Music in Interlaken, NJ. While in the studio the band crafted the tunes into pop gems that shamelessly and humbly nod in the direction of their hero's from the 60's and 70's. While on the coast the band was graciously welcomed into the home of a local legend of sorts from the town of Ocean Grove. The band fell in love with the vibe of the small sleepy beach town and decided to honor that appreciation by naming the band Ocean Grove. The beginning of 2011 marked the start of Ocean Grove's mission to play in front of anyone and everyone they can. With a sold out show at the Troubadour as their debut the band has come to NYC to play once again to a sold out crowd at the Gramercy theatre. Ocean Grove is happy for the opportunity to share it's music with whomever may listen, and plans on doing so for as long as the people show up
