THE SUGAR CLOUDS

With its genesis in weekend jamming and songwriting sessions in the living room of divorced roommates Greg and Melissa Host, the Sugar Clouds were formed when the Detroit couple decided to recruit local talent to record and perform their divorce and separation-fueled compositions. Beginning with journeyman drummer Jim Faulkner (The Volebeats, Goober and the Peas), the ensuing agglomeration, known originally as 'The Hosts,' slowly grew into a 5 piece psychedelic folk rock outfit made distinctive by the classic sounds of vintage instruments coupled with electronic sensibilities, unpolished yet elegant m/f harmonies, jangly psych/pop tunes and guileless confessional lyrics. The band has played many clubs and festivals around the Detroit area and has been featured in dozens of podcasts and radio shows around the world. One song from the Debut Hosts album was featured in the low-budget Hollywood film "Butterfly" (2011).

With the addition of new guitarist, Paul Einhaus (The Happy Accidents) and bass player Todd Breadon (Thumbs Up) in 2011, the Hosts changed their name to The Sugar Clouds, and began polishing their new material for a Spring 2014 record release.
