CAGE THE ELEPHANT

When Cage the Elephant released their self-titled debut in 2009, they were heralded as saviors of slacker funk-punk thanks to their hit "Ain't No Rest for the Wicked." On January 11, 2011, Cage the Elephant released Thank You Happy Birthday, an album that launched the new year with a ferocious kick of gut-grabbing rock & roll. Three years after their last release, Cage the Elephant presented the third studio album Melophobia in 2014. Faced with the challenge of finding cohesiveness in the ideas of five different people, they spent almost a year writing material individually. The band finally meet again in August 2012 at St. Charles Studio in Nashville with longtime producer Jay Joyce. Melophobia collects unabashedly vivid and notably thoughtful rock songs that captures both raw energy and playfulness the band is known for, and their present interest in creating intimately expressive music. The first single “Come a Little Closer” was featured on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Late Show with David, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Ryan Seacrest’s weekend radio program after spending more than 10 weeks on at #1 on the Modern Rock chart and nominated for “Best Alt Rock Song of the Year” in the inaugural iHeartRadio Music awards.
